Future Starz Basketball Club · Ages 8–18

One curriculum.
Whole athlete.

Future Starz is Starz Academy's after-school basketball club — a five-month club season built like a college program, with academics, performance, and the Diamond Mind mental-training edge built into the week.

Mission

The mission

The mission of the Future Starz Basketball Club is to give student-athletes ages 8–18 a life, performance-oriented basketball experience — education, basketball fundamentals, community service, leadership, mental performance, nutrition, and sports performance. One curriculum, whole athlete.

Program structure

The Starz engine

A college program, modified for a five-month club season — so scouts see players in a system built for the next level. Seven pillars, plus the one our competitors don't have.

Pillar 01

College-style team practices

Structured like the next level: plan, pace, standards, film.

Pillar 02

Academic support

Student first, athlete always — grades are part of the uniform.

Pillar 03

SAT / ACT prep

Test-readiness support built into the season rhythm.

TBA — provider

Prep provider to be announced.

Pillar 04

Performance training

Strength, speed, and conditioning matched to age and position.

Pillar 05

Nutritional support

Fuel education — what to eat, when, and why it matters.

Pillar 06

Skills clinics

Guard, wing, and post skill tracks.

TBA — schedule

Clinic schedule to be announced.

Pillar 07

Sanctioned tournaments

Maximum exposure in sanctioned competition.

TBA — circuits

Tournament circuits and showcases to be announced.

The Starz Edge

⭐ THE TUNNEL: DIAMOND MIND

Built into the week, not bolted on. The Diamond Mind hour trains the performing mind: the Pressure Audit (name the cue), the 4-4-4 Tunnel Walk (breath, body, attention, first action), W.I.N. ("What's Important Now"), and the Next-Play Reset (exhale, cue word, next job).

PERFORMANCE = (REPS × COMMAND) − DRIFT. The court trains the skill. Diamond Mind trains the moment the skill has to survive the crowd, the clock, and the stakes.

Student-athlete driven

Serious about school. Serious about ball.

We recruit high-character student-athletes who are serious about their academics. The college exposure path runs through the season structure — practices, clinics, and sanctioned tournaments that put players in front of the next level.

History of success

The Starz record

Starz Academy was founded in 2009; Starz Basketball Academy launched in Los Angeles in 2013. Co-founders: Bernard Jester, Ray Reed, Ty Reed.

Our proof is the work: the sealed camp photo sets, the coaching tree, and the culture our athletes carry. No invented alumni, no invented placements — the record speaks from what is real.

Once a Star, always a Star.

The club is a fraternity for life — involvement doesn't end when the season does.
